his project consisted in the Renovation of a
T 19th century building, due to be converted into
a contemporary multiple levels retail store.
The restoration of the outside façades has focused on
the recovering and valorization of the original
architectural features of the building. While the
renovation included the integration of a modern steel
and glass structure, “the Lantern”, emerging from the
roof terrace and intended for a restaurant with
panoramic views.
The digging of the new foundation unexpectedly
unearthed roman tombs dating back to the first half of
the second century BC. INTEGRA AES provided a
substantial design modification during the works in
20 progress. An archeological area has been set-up to 21
allow visitors to contemplate the roman relics and a
specific ventilation and lighting system has been
studied to ensure their preservation.
