Capocotta shore, going from Via Litoranea to Castelporziano beach and Torvaianica, is an area with high environmental value. The beach is made up of coastal dunes covered with Mediterranean maquis, that, from the 1980s, had underwent an irregular bathing tourism, which contributed to increase its general decline. The existing structures were located in a place deeply characterized by physical-environmental connotations, giving an elevated landscape value to the territory. Consequently, any change was subordinated to the related visual alterations, also considering the specific climatic characteristics to provide a suitable morphological, constructive solution in harmony with the landscape system. Therefore, the project proposal dealt with its peculiar natural themes and aimed at integrating, valorizing and, if necessary, enhancing them through the pursuit of a functional continuity between the existing and the future structure, fundamental for the quality of the service.
