Opening of the Sepulchra Scipionum
After 20 years, the Sepulchra Scipionum, one of the most valuable archaeological complexes of the Republican age, was reopened to the public. The presentation of the restoration was attended by the mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno, and other important authorities.The design and supervision of works were entrusted to the company INTEGRA AES, that has focused primarily on the structural consolidation and monumental renovation. Built by Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbato, founder of the family of Scipio, in the first decades of the third century. a. C., the tomb housed the remains of about thirty members of the family.
