The project of the Cultural Center in Velletri aimed at the urban rehabilitation of a district otherwise marginal and lacking a definite identity. The tunnel is the new point of aggregation, as an indoor square and place of exchange of public and private functions, housed in the two buildings, overlooking the square. The structure, that through the decoration with pilasters on the façades explicitly recall the ancient Roman forum, itself sheltered from bad weather and moisture, includes the symbols of public life: the town hall, the university, the theater and the church, as well as services such as a pharmacy and a post office. The cultural heart of the project is located on the ground floor of the public building with the theater and the multiplex cinema. Both the cinema and the theater lobbies are accessible directly from outside, independently from the working time. Finally, the primary school is located on the opposite side of the theater and overlooks a large garden placed at the same level; while the University is placed above the scenic tower of the theatre, to strengthen the public vocation of that part of the building.
