Kabul, Afghanistan

UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services) in Afghanistan through the LTA procedures, engaged INTEGRA AES to provide a Complete A&E design package of new UNOPS AFCO in Kabul with all the disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Structural, MEP, and ICT) up to 95% Design “Intended for Construction” and “Ready to Advertise”. The Project concerns the realization of new UNOPS Afghanistan Country Office relocating it to the UNOCA/UNAMA compound in Kabul, according to Concept Design provided by UNOPS, based on 20 feet standard pre-engineered modules. According to the concept design proposal, INTEGRA AES developed the preliminary design meeting the requirements and all relevant standards, and then a detailed design has been developed, also by means of BIM, incorporating UNOPS comments and observations about preliminary design. The country office design foreseen a new construction into a new two-stories containerized office building which will be constructed in a plot of land of approximately 950 sqm inside the compound, for a total gross floor area of about 1500 sqm. The proposed layouts provide improved workspaces and better distribute the flows to adapt building layout and office spaces to the prescriptive measures of the typical 20 ft hi-cube shipping container (6058x2438x2890mm). The building includes office spaces (closed and open-spaces), meeting rooms, technical rooms, cafeteria and toilets for about 70 persons. All Designs have been developed in compliance with UNOPS Design Planning Manuals and subjected to UNOPS Design Review with final approval confirming compliance and validity.
