INTEGRA AES carried out the design for the intervention called “Design Workshop for ASTER B1NT Munition Integration” at the military site of the Interforce Advanced Munitions Center (C.I.M.A.) in Aulla in the province of Massa Carrara. The overall intervention concerns the construction of a Workshop, for ammunition integration and maintenance activities, an inert warehouse, and two storage depots for storing pyrotechnic material suitable for hosting the production activities of ASTER B1NT ammunition.
The Workshop meets the functional, spatial, operational requirements and in compliance with the TULPS, is divided into two macro-areas: a “Pirate Zone” consisting of five cells and an “Inert Zone”. From a structural point of view, the load-bearing structures are mainly in cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The cells will have a box structure having an expendable, the purpose of which is to direct overpressures in a specific direction in the event of an explosion. The cells thus turn out to be separated by concrete walls and protective embankments made of soil reinforced.
